Sober Dawn

This is another mani from when my nails were longer. Gradients are the only nail art that I don't suck at, so I do them often! This one was a base of China Glaze Aquadelic, and then I sponged on Illamasqua Cameo and Force. I really love these colors together and this is one of my favorite gradients I've done, even if I did make a big mess on my cuticles!

Later on, I decided to layer a glitter over the gradient. This is a polish I made exclusively for a giveaway hosted by Carly at Lacquered Lover to raise money for Sandy Hook. The contest is long over and I really wish I'd written down the formula for this polish - I absolutely love it! I called it Sober Dawn and it can be added to the list of polishes I've named after songs by Cursive, haha. Since the song it's named for is also the same song I named The Worst is Over after, I went with the same sunrise-inspired colors but in a glitter topcoat.

"...and in the morning, on that sober dawn of Sunday,
you're not sure what you have done.
Who told you love was fleeting?
Sometimes men can be so misleading,
to take what they need from you.

Whatever you need to make you feel,
like you've been the one behind the wheel,
the sunrise is just over that hill..
the worst is over."

  2. GAH this combo is just perfect! I really wish you wrote down the formula too, LOL because I would buy it just to replicate this mani!
